The new iPad model comes with quad-core graphics processor, a Retina screen and support for LTE, and will cost the same as the iPad 2 – from $ 499.
Apple in San Francisco held a conference where they presented a new model of their tablet. Tim Cook was first announced a new version of IOS (5.1) which should be available today and a new model of Apple TV that now comes with support for 1080p video, and then they came to a new model called the iPad – new iPad.
As expected, this device now comes with a Retina display which guarantees a great view – diagonal screen remains 9.7 inches, but there is the increased resolution, which now stands at 2048 x 1536 pixels which is more than a million more pixels than HD.
This show deserves more power so the new iPad comes with stronger A5X processor (which includes four graphics cores) so we can expect stunning graphics capabilities.
Another novelty brought by this tablet is an iSight camera 5MP resolution that comes with the similar optics from the iPhone and will be able to shoot with it 1080p HD video.
The new screen, powerful processor and support for LTE supposedly should not affect the battery of the new iPad, which should endure ten hours, or nine hours during the use of 4G networks.
Price of new iPad remains the same as the iPad 2-499, 599 and $ 699 for models with 16, 32 and 64GB, respectively 629, 729 and $ 829 for models with and support for 4G. In certain markets (USA, Germany, France, UK …) will appear as early as next Friday, the 16th March.
This year we are expecting iPad HD, cheaper iPad 2 and after the summer we are expecting smaller model of Apple’s tablet.

Despite the fact that iPad 2 has been on the market for about five and a half months, for quite some time now the iPad 3 rumors have been floating around confusing everybody. Although no official announcement from Apple was given regarding any of these iPad 3 rumors, there is an undeniable fact that many serious marketing and trade analysts and agencies have been jumping on the wagon for iPad 3 rumors.
DigiTimes, established daily newspapers company for high-tech industries in Taiwan and the Greater China, reported that Taiwanese suppliers are actually SHIPPING equipment for the iPhone 5 and iPad 3. Although there are some strong indicators iPhone 5 might hit the market somewhere in September or October 2011, it is highly unlikely that the new iPad will be released just 6-7 months after the launch of iPad 2. In fact, Apple probably won’t push iPad 3 anywhere in 2011, as iPad 2 is still selling well all around the globe and they might seriously piss off some of their customers by releasing new model thus making existing iPad 2-s obsolete.
There is one more thing though. The suppliers for Apple simply can’t meet the demand. If we assume that iPad 3 will have 2048×1536 HD LCD display and A6 processor, it is highly unlikely that any of the iPad 3 rumors will come true. In fact, it’s quite safe to assume that Apple will wait with iPad 3 release date until Spring 2012.
In regards to 4G networks, there is a high chance that iPad 3 will have 4G implemented making it possible to run on Verizon and AT&T’s 4G LTE networks by Spring 2012.
Following the buzz about all those 7-inch Android tablets on the market, some analysts have predicted that new iPad 3 might have 7-inch display as well. However, this iPad 3 rumor was denied by Steve Jobs himself who expressed disbelief in the success possibilities of 7-inch tablets.
There are many iPad 3 rumors about its display. Retina display is highly unlikely due to the fact that it is very expensive to manufacture for such a large device, and that would affect the affordability seriously. Glass-free 3D display might be cool, however that technology consumes too much battery power and is far from perfect and convenient, therefore also highly unlikely to be implemented.

Apple’s miniaturization progresses at rapid pace which definitely leads to the more convenient design. First of all, iPad 2 is still selling like hotcakes, holding over 80% of USA tablet market, and dominating worldwide as well. So, it wouldn’t be a wise move to piss off some of the newest iPad 2 customers by launching the new version which would make existing, newly both iPads obsolete.
Then there are technical “details” which will undoubtedly delay the iPad 3 release date. It is quite certain that iPad 3 will have 2048×1536 HD LCD display. That’s 4 times bigger resolution than the current iPad, but it’s also a pain for Apple’s manufacturers. As Apple doesn’t produce these in their manufacturing facilities, it’s left at the mercy of its manufacturers. And most of the manufacturers can’t make enough reliable units by the end of 2011, thus being unable to meet the demand. Reports also show that the A6 processors which are about to power the iPad 3 are still in the testing phase.
Judging by these indicators, it is highly unlikely that iPad 3 release date will be any sooner than somewhere in the second quarter of 2012. Right now, if Apple launches iPad 3, it would surely do more damage than benefits. However, there is also no official announcement yet and Apple just might be preparing quite a surprise for all of us.
